” The Balloon Fiesta ” – Hunter Valley 2018

This is the second year in a row that I have had the privilege of photographing this spectacular event. It goes for 4 days at the end of September each year. The weather at this time of year is ideal for hot air ballooning. The cool fresh mornings are very calm with very light winds and this makes for a very calm and relaxing experience. This year the conditions were absolutely perfect. Amazing light, fog rolling over the valley and a very soft breeze. I have been in a helicopter many times to shoot aerial images but being up in the balloon is very different. It is a very calm and gentle way to take in the views of the Hunter Valley. I’m already looking forward to shooting this event again next year.
